Q) Who can use refrigerated containers?
A) General Dealers, caterers, farmers, wine merchants, film companies, oil companies, mines, hotels, fruit and vegetable vendors, fish and meat companies, shipping companies, in fact the list is endless. Q) How do I go about leasing a container?
A) Call us for a quote and a copy of our contract, and we will walk you through it step by step.
Q) Can I plug the container into a standard 15A 220V supply?
A) No, you require a dedicated 440/380V, 3 Phase power supply, rated for 32A. A certified electrician is required to connect the unit into your supply. You will need a three phase and earth supply. Neutral is not required.
Q) Can I use a generator to power the unit?
A) Yes, as long as the generator is rated to supply the correct power requirement for the unit. You require a 380/ 440V Power supply, rated at 32A . Our units will draw around 15 to 20 amps continuously
Q) How much will it cost me to run the unit on a daily basis?
A) This will depend on many factors such as how long the unit runs, average current draw and so on, but experience has shown us that on average, the running cost per day per unit is between R12-00 and R15-00.
Q) Can I use a container for freezing unfrozen product?
A) NO, these units are not BLAST FREEZERS or CHILLERS. They are able to maintain product at the temperature you load the product at. The units do have a small amount of pull down capacity, but this is not what they were designed to do.
Q) How accurate is the temperature control?
A) 0,1ºC to 0,5ºC is the normal accuracy delivered by our units. By this we mean to say that if your product temperature is critical, our units will deliver the exact temperature you require down to 0,1ºC accuracy.
Q) How does the container get to my premises?
A) No Problem, we use a Crane Truck capable of lifting and placing a 3.5 ton shipping container in most locations, indoors or out.
Q) What is the size and capacity of the unit?
A) A standard 20 foot refrigerated unit measures:
Outside Measurements: 6040 (L) x 2430 (W) x 2580 (H)
Inside Measurements: 5425 (L) x 2275 (W) x 2260 (H)
Capacity is 27 cubic meters with a nett freight capacity of 22 tonnes of product.
Tarre of container is 3289 kg
Depending on the product, most users will be able to store around 10 tonnes of product in the container, or an equivelent of 10 pallets. (One broken down)
Q) What if the container malfunctions while on lease to me?
A) Call us on the number listed on the side of the container and we will do the rest. Deep frozen product will hold temperature for a number of days if the door remains closed, while chill product will maintain temperature for a few hours.
Q) Are the units easy to keep clean and can they be used in the preparation of food?
A) Yes on both accounts. All our units are manufactured from high grade Stainless Steel and are easy to keep clean. This makes them attractive for the storage of food items.
